In January 2000 during the week preceding the Iowa caucuses, the Des Moines Register asked us to analyze the handwriting of the eight presidential candidates. The samples were given to us without an indication of who each writer was. It was only after we submitted the analyses that the writers were revealed.

Note: The handwriting samples were short in content, and sometimes only a single word. The samples were also fax copies. These are less than ideal samples, and therefore reduce the percentage of accuracy of the analysis.
